We had a good Memorial Day Weekend around the Neilsen homestead. I honestly don't remember what we did Saturday which means it had to be pretty relaxing! Sunday we went to a friend's house for a cook-out. It was nice to hang out with people and they broke out their brand new margarita/frozen drink machine which was very yummy, even the"virgin" variety that I sampled!
Wes and Mommy at the Cook-out around the outside fire pit!
Carrots
Beets
Pumpkin
Zucchini (but not as many as last year!)
Acorn Squash
Green Peppers
Lettuce
Wax Beans
Green Beans
Chives (which came back from last year!)
Sage
I hope to be able to use several of these to make baby food for Wes in the coming months!

Monday was garden central around here. I pulled weeds for a little while on both Saturday and Sunday and finished up with that Monday morning. We went to a local greenhouse and bought a few starter plants and to the evil empire of Walmart to buy two cherry fruit trees. We planted those along with several packages of seeds. If they all come up, we should have the following fresh veggies:
Carrots
Beets
Pumpkin
Zucchini (but not as many as last year!)
Acorn Squash
Green Peppers
Lettuce
Wax Beans
Green Beans
Chives (which came back from last year!)
Sage
I hope to be able to use several of these to make baby food for Wes in the coming months!

In other news, today was Wesley's four month check-up. He got two shots and a rotavirus immunization in liquid oral form. We are being pro-active this time and giving him Tylenol BEFORE the horrible fever sets in so hopefully we'll have a more restful evening than we did after his two month shots. He is right on track for all of his develomental milestones (he was flashing the pediatrician smile after smile).
But most interesting, of course, are his stats. He gained two centimeters arond his head circumference. He is now 12lbs 11.5 oz (up from 10lbs 4oz at his 2 month appointment) which still places him in the 25th percentile. He is now 26" tall (up from 23 1/4), placing him somewhere between the 75th and 90th percentile in height! We've got a tall, thin boy! Way to go Wesley! Keep growing!
Here is Wes just a few minutes ago, home from the doctor's office... tall and skinny!

Your grandpa Garwood would have refered to him as a "long, thin drink of water".
Ahhh....I used to be skinny...sigh.
I love your pics, Jenna! Wes is getting so, so big. His big, big, beautiful eyes remind of Nash's eyes when he was that age. Looks like you two have a lot of fun hanging out together. Little babies are just the best.
